Whatever your interest and pleasure, our little piece of paradise in the Périgord Noir offers outstanding scenery and and a wealth of possibilities to indulge your favourite pastimes, whatever the time of year and level of leisurely, energetic or challenging activity you want to enjoy.

Views to the forest
Whether you want gentle ambles through woodland and forest, briskly challenging walks, running, cycling, horse riding, tennis or a round of golf on one our area’s lovely courses, you won’t have to go far. There are marked walking, cycling and horse-riding tracks all around Pessel, and a wide variety of other tracks and ‘boucles’ or circuits in the vicinity, taking in the stunning countryside and pretty villages (such as Cadouin, a UNESCO world heritage site), which abound in this region.
There is an abundance of wildlife; deer, pine martens, raptors, frogs, wild boar, hoopoes, golden orioles to name a few – and some stunning orchids and other wildflowers in season – plus we are blessed with a profusion of edible (and not so edible!) funghi, including morilles, much prized by the locals.
We offer peacefully situated, comfortable and well-equipped self-catering accommodation sleeping from 2 to 10 people, and can offer you guidance on the best activities and experiences on offer in the area, including dining, cultural activities and sightseeing, in addition to less demanding activities such as painting, sculpture and cookery. Please ask for further information and enquire about bookings and availability here.
