Here you can follow the changing seasons and find out what we’re up to at Domaine de Pessel, as we discover and learn more and more about our French home and its hidden delights.

October 2015

Autumn – perhaps my favourite season, reminding me of trampling through crunchy fallen leaves, mellow colours and beauty of the trees, bonfires and wood smoke, curling into the evening sky – the promise of warmth, home-made treacle toffee and very likely a glass of local red to enhance the entire experience.
Our first Autumn here at Pessel has been so beautiful – unexpected treats, visual, sensual, inspiring.

 Urval Festival August 2015

I just found this short video clip I recorded back in August – thought I would share it as it’s such a good example of the simple fun and friendliness that is to be had at French summer festivals and night markets. There is an abundance of them taking place throughout the summer in our area, and you can find more information on our ‘See and Do’ pages.

It may have rained, but nothing stopped the fun, and how the wine flowed … we had a great experience at our very first Urval Village Festival. The bread from the ‘four banal’ was excellent, as was all the food, and the atmosphere was really buzzing.

The Urval festival takes place annually on the second weekend in August, with music, dancing, games and entertainment for both children and adults of all ages.

Here are a few more photos of the evening.
